My Favorite Restaurants at Disney World

Posted by Meagan Selby on

Whether you are an annual passholder or you’re going to Disney for the very first time, navigating all the dining options can be a little overwhelming. Over countless trips and even more meals, I've been on a delicious mission to find the best restaurants at Disney.

I've narrowed it down to my absolute favorite spots; however, it’s worth noting that everyone will have their own opinion based on their tastes and experiences and I highly recommend reading as many blogs as you can.

That said I’m so excited to share my favorites with you, and I hope they become yours as well. Let’s dive in!

In no particular order…

Boathouse

Located in Disney Springs, the Boathouse has become a must-visit for us, and we find ourselves going every time. Boathouse starts strong with their dessert-like bread; don't skip the extra honey butter! My go-to entree is the filet sliders, served with either mac and cheese or garlic fries – both are excellent. The filet is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and those honey butter buns are just…wow. We always head to the Ganachery for dessert, but the giant pies we've seen at other tables are definitely on our list for a future group outing. The restaurant has a great vibe, inside and out. And trust me, you'll want to make a reservation; this place gets busy.

Liberty Tree Tavern

This restaurant is the very definition of comfort food! Their family-style service means a set menu is brought to your table, and they offer refills of everything. Your meal begins with a light vinaigrette salad and warm, buttery rolls. The main course is a comforting trio of roasted turkey, tender pot roast, and delicious pork, accompanied by classic sides like creamy mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and homemade mac and cheese. Make sure you leave room for dessert because you are not going to want to miss what I think might be the best dessert in Magic Kingdom- it’s the toffee cake with ice cream! I absolutely love the variety here; there's something for everyone to enjoy. While the entire experience is fantastic, the garlic mashed potatoes and the toffee cake are reasons enough to plan your next visit.

Olivia’s

Though Olivia's at Old Key West Resort enjoys widespread popularity for its brunch among locals, its dinner menu presents a potential hidden gem. Stepping into the restaurant, you're immediately immersed in a fun, beachy atmosphere. Once again, a restaurant famous for their bread because it is the same as the pineapple bread from Ohana’s! For my entrée, I went with the prime rib, which was tender with an amazing flavor; with a side of broccolini and garlic mashed potatoes. While the signature pineapple bread could easily be your dessert, you are going to want to try their famous Key lime pie, crafted with an authentic recipe from the Florida Keys.

Steakhouse 71

If someone asks for restaurant recommendations, Steakhouse 71 is often the first place that comes to mind. My family loved it so much on our recent trip – it was everyone's favorite! I'm also a big fan of the restaurant's ambiance, especially the pictures of Magic Kingdom while it was being built.

If you are looking for an appetizer, try the bacon and eggs - no, really, trust me- with maple pork belly and smoky cheese grits. For lunch, I like to go with the gourmet grilled cheese. It has an onion jam that adds such a unique and delicious sweetness. For dinner, I always go with the filet, but for me, what is so different about this steakhouse is their option of different sauces; they even have a sauce flight with all 5 sauces. For sides with your steak, I highly recommend their red wine mushrooms and mac and cheese.

Topolino’s Terrace

Topolino's dinner menu might initially appear a bit overwhelming with its sophisticated dishes. While it offers an array of unique dishes for those more adventurous, I ultimately opted for the filet mignon, and it has quickly become my favorite steak on Disney World property. The sauce is the perfect complement to the incredibly tender meat. The desserts are also upscale and tasty my favorite is the chocolate cake with a caramel center…yum. Beyond the exceptional dining, the views from the rooftop patio are breathtaking, offering a fun game of spotting Disney attractions.
